UMNO ELECTION 2013: Party member claims he was not allowed in

KOTA KINABALU: A 28-year-old wheelchair bound Umno member claimed he was stopped from entering the Penampang divisional meeting despite being told by two senior party members last night to come.

"When I arrived, the officers registering the delegates told me my name was not in the list. How could this be when I was informed by two of the divisional chief candidates my name was listed," said the delegate who identified himself as Francis Xavier.
The two leaders who informed him were Datuk Freddie Sua and Stephen Ryman who are challenging incumbent Datuk John Ambrose.
Ambrose said it was probably a technical glitch and they are working to resolve the problem.
Francis arrived at Palace Hotel where the meeting was being held at about 8am. After being told he was not listed, officers assured him they will assist him.
By 10am, Francis complained and asked Ambrose to sort his problem. He was eventually allowed in but decided to leave after delegates were told those without tags were not eligible to cast their votes.
