Back-to-school necessities at up to 30 per cent discount

TAWAU: Consumers will be able to purchase school necessities at discounts of between 10 and 30 per cent lower than current market prices.

This is part of the Program Jualan RAHMAH MADANI (PJRM) Back to School 2026 in conjunction with the year-end school holidays.

Organised by  Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) ministry, the programme is aimed to ease the financial burden of parents preparing for the new school session.

"As announced in the 2026 Budget, the MADANI Government has allocated RM300 million for the implementation of the Payung RAHMAH initiative under KPDN, which includes the nationwide organisation of PJRM.

“In preparation for the 2026 new school session, KPDN will expand the implementation of PJRM through the organisation of PJRM Back to School 2026,” he said, adding KPDN will continue to strengthen the implementation of PJRM, including improvements in terms of expanding methods of delivery and existing target groups.

The programme is scheduled to run from Dec 20, 2025 to Jan 11, 2026, covering the entire school holiday period.

A total of 174 supermarkets, shopping centres and clothing stores will be involved through both in-premise and out-of-premise implementations.

Between 45 and 80 stock keeping units (SKUs) will be offered, including school uniforms, school shoes, school bags and stationery.

Members of the public can refer to the PJRM Calendar via the KPDN website to obtain information on the dates and locations of the PJRM Back to School programmes to be organised.
