The contribution, supported by funds raised from the hotels’ recent annual Road to Give charity run and the Marriott Business Council Malaysia, directly benefited 50 youths residing at both homes.
The contribution comprised brand-new essential items aimed at improving daily living conditions and long-term comfort.
These included mattresses and pillows, washing machines, a refrigerator, stand fans, shoe racks, compartment lockers, and two food storage cabinets, along with painting and refurbishment works carried out at both homes and the surau at HOME Tuaran. Additional new household items were also provided to further support the residents’ day-to-day needs.
As part of the initiative, 12 associates from Le Méridien Kota Kinabalu and Kota Kinabalu Marriott, led by Le Meridien Kota Kinabalu Hotel Manager, Pavin Ravindran and Human Resources director Zaid Kamis, personally took part in the outreach, engaging with the youths and assisting with the delivery of the donated items — creating meaningful connections beyond material support.
About the Homes
JIREH Home is a Christian-based care home focused on providing a safe, stable environment for underprivileged and at-risk youths, offering residential care, educational support, guidance, and character-building programs.
Beyond shelter and education, JIREH Home plays a vital role in restoring hope and dignity, empowering its residents to grow into responsible, confident, and purpose-driven individuals prepared for independence and adulthood.
HOME Tuaran is a Muslim-based community welfare home that supports youths in need by offering shelter, academic assistance, and spiritual guidance, with a surau on-site for religious activities.
The home is also committed to nurturing the holistic growth of its residents, ensuring they are supported emotionally, spiritually, and socially — equipping them with strong moral and religious foundations and practical life skills.
Together, both homes play a vital role in shaping the lives of vulnerable youths by instilling discipline, education, resilience, and hope for a brighter tomorrow.
Suresh Ramasamy, General Manager of Le Méridien Kota Kinabalu and Co-Chairman of the Marriott Business Council East Malaysia, shared:
“At Marriott, Serve 360 is more than a corporate commitment — it is a responsibility we live by. Through Road to Give, we turn purpose into action by supporting youth development and strengthening community foundations.
"By investing in the future of these children today, we are helping shape a more resilient and compassionate tomorrow.”
Marriott International’s Serve 360: Doing Good in Every Direction is guided by four core pillars — Nurture Our World, Sustain Responsible Operations, Empower Through Opportunity, and Welcome All & Advance Human Rights. Collectively, these pillars shape the company’s global efforts to create meaningful and lasting impact across the communities it serves.
At the heart of this initiative lies the Nurture Our World pillar, which focuses on strengthening communities by addressing critical social needs — particularly youth development, education, well-being, and community resilience. By supporting homes like JIREH Home and Tuaran Home, Marriott reinforces its belief that every child deserves a safe environment, access to education, emotional guidance, and opportunities to thrive.
Through sustained partnerships, associate volunteerism, and initiatives such as Road to Give, Marriott continues to invest in the next generation, nurturing confidence, character, and capability among youths — empowering them to break cycles of disadvantage and build brighter futures.
This outreach stands as a testament to Marriott’s enduring purpose: not only to welcome the world through hospitality, but also to uplift it through service, compassion, and shared humanity.
