KOTA KINABALU: Parti Warisan has firmly denied viral claims alleging unrest, internal power struggles and leadership disputes during its Annual General Assembly, describing the allegations as false, defamatory and deliberately misleading.
Warisan Information Chief Datuk Mohd Azis Jamman said he categorically rejects all assertions circulating in widely shared social media posts and visuals, stressing that the party gathering was conducted in a controlled and orderly manner.
“There was no riot or chaos as alleged. The programme proceeded smoothly, and claims of major disorder are a clear distortion of facts,” he said in a statement.
Mohd Azis also dismissed accusations that unrest was sparked by party members pressuring him to assume the presidency of Warisan, calling the narrative false and deceptive.
“I did not incite, initiate or participate in any such movement. This allegation was fabricated to create the perception of internal division within the party,” he said.
He further refuted claims that a heated debate took place over Warisan President Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal’s performance in the Sabah state election, stressing that no such debate occurred and that no personal assessments of the party president were made during the assembly.
Another viral allegation claiming that Mohd Azis had resigned from Warisan with immediate effect was also rejected outright.
“This is clear slander. I have not left the party, I have made no such announcement, and I remain committed to Warisan through its legitimate and established channels,” he said.
Mohd Azis described the entire viral posting as fake news intended to mislead the public, warning that such irresponsible narratives pose a threat to the party’s reputation and stability.
He said Warisan takes seriously any attempt to tarnish its image or sow confusion among the public through false information.
Mohd Azis urged the public to exercise caution and refrain from believing or sharing unverified content circulating online.
