Newly appointed Sedcovest Chest to empower women and rural community.



KOTA KINABALU: Empowering women entrepreneurs would not only improve household incomes but also help narrow the development gap between urban and rural communities.

Newly appointed Sedcovest Holdings chairperson Datuk Redonah Bahanda said that inclusive economic growth must begin at the grassroots level.

The Gagasan Rakyat Women's chief said the growth should be done through structured entrepreneurship training, access to financing, business mentoring, and wider market access for women involved in small and medium enterprises, particularly in rural areas.

Redonah, who clocked in on her first day today, was briefed on Sedcovest’s operations and strategic direction by General Manager Abd Rahim Md Zain and the company’s management team, with particular attention given to entrepreneurship development and community-based economic programmes.

She extended her appreciation to Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor for the trust placed in her the helm the government-linked company.

Also present at the briefing were General Manager Abd Rahim Md Zain; Finance and Accounts Manager DK Elymanizan Pg Masri; Entrepreneur Development Manager Nor Jahan Yaakub; Human Resource Development & Administration Manager Cannisius Ebin Gon; Project & Business Development Manager Malizah Oldy; and Property Management Manager Dayang Hanizah Mohd Yusop.
