PPM must discharge duties with full integrity

KOTA KINABALU: Community Development Leaders (PPM) have to discharge their duties with integrity, said Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.
He added that PPM represents the State Government in their respective constituencies.

He said PPM serving in the opposition constituencies, in particular, have a heavy responsibility of earning the people’s trust in the GRS-led State Government.

“Apart from following the instructions of the government, the role of PPM in opposition areas is challenging.
"You are the government's eyes and ears. Do your job properly,” he said after officiating the second phase oath-taking ceremony of 35 PPMs at Menara Kinabalu here.
Another 45 PPMs took their oath of office at the first oath-taking ceremony on January 13.

The second-batch today would mostly be serving in the constituencies where the elected representatives are opposition.
“You must safeguard the image of the government. Do not do things for personal gain.

"If I find those pursuing their own interests and neglecting the people, I will not hesitate to sack them. Do not abuse your power but give priority to those who are really in need of assistance,” he said.

Hajiji also reiterated that the PPM must explain to the grassroots about the State Government’s policy, initiatives and achievements under the Hala Tuju Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ).

Also present were cabinet ministers and Director of the PPM Unit, Datuk Awang Kadin Tang.
