ECSTATIC: Husband fulfils wife’s desire of riding in a horse-drawn carriage, courtesy of Cadbury
KHAIRUNNISA Ismail, 24, was almost in tears when her husband, Fazrol Amer Saupi, gave her a surprise horse carriage ride from Berjaya Times Square to KL Tower recently.
Her 28-year-old husband's purchase of Cadbury chocolate worth RM50 had entitled him to take part in the "Share the Happiness" contest on Facebook organised by the chocolate maker.
"It was her dream to ride in a horse-drawn carriage, just like a princess, on her wedding day," said Fazrol, who decided to try his luck in the contest and fulfil his wife's dream for their wedding day three years ago.
Fazrol wowed the judges to win the second prize. He then took his wife to the Berjaya Times Square where Cadbury organised a promotion and show featuring fairytale characters.
When the judges surprised Khairunnisa with the announcement that she was to be given a horse carriage ride to KL Tower, the staff nurse with Hospital University Kebangsaan Malaysia was ecstatic beyond words.
Khairunnisa, who was accompanied by the couple's two-year-old son, said: "I would never thought that my unromantic husband would go to this extent to make my day."
Khairunnisa, her husband and son were later treated to a candle-lit dinner at the KL Tower's revolving restaurant.
Kraft Foods Malaysia marketing director Jason Chin said Fazrol was chosen because the judges were impressed with his love story.
"They were high school sweethearts and had been separated for four years before they got back together and got married," Chin said.
The contest, which ran from Sept 19 to Oct 9, entitled purchasers of Cadbury chocolates to take part and have their dreams for their loved ones fulfilled.
The third prize winner's wish was fulfilled on Nov 19.
Cadbury will reveal the first prize winner on Dec 17.
