Both programmes integrate mentoring and coaching concept to improve Bahasa Malaysia, English and Mathematics.
"This year, the department will focus on improving education quality and students enrolment both in urban and rural areas in the state," she said after launching the state's education direction for 2013 at the Kota Kinabalu High School here.
The department is targeting better results for the Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) examination this year.
Maimunah urged school principals and teachers to plan their management based on data and research findings to better achieve these results.
