KOTA KINABALU: Sabah-based oppo sition parties — the State Reform Party (Star) and Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) say they are well pre pared for the 13th general election even before the dissolution was made of Par liament on Wednesday.
SAPP information chief Chong Pit Fah told the New Straits Times that party flags have been put up, par ticularly at the double six monument in Sembulan, housing areas, as well as along the main roads in Sabah.
“Our members are also preparing banners and other campaigning tools with ‘Ini Kali Lah’ tagline.
“Besides that, we are still doing conducting talks on a small scale, which is implemented on house-to- house or shop-to-shop basis,” he added.
In a public talk held on Tuesday, SAPP party president Datuk Yong Teck Lee had criticised peninsular-based op position DAP who whose leaders had been boasting about themselves to go of going for at least 20 seats in Sabah.
Yong said SAPP will contest at least 40 seats to end outsiders’ the continuous manipulation and exploitation of Sabah and its rich nat ural resources by outsiders.
Meanwhile, State Reform Party star chairman Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan said he would will make an an nouncement on candidates and manifestos next week, nearing nomination day.
“For operations centres around the state, we have adequate man power to run the general election machinery and also to assist voters.
“As of now, we are still running scheduled programmes for the peo ple until further notice on the elec tion by the Election Commission.”
