KOTA KINABALU: Timor-Leste has signed another Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Malaysia to create core experts in the field of oil and gas.
The signing was between the Republic's Ministry of Education and Malaysia's Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS).
The MoU will allow 30 Timor-Leste students to study in the O&G field.
It was witnessed by Timor-Leste Prime Minister Kay Rala Xanana Gusmao and Yang Di-Pertua Negeri Tun Juhar Mahiruddin as UMS chancellor.
On Monday, National University Of Timor-Leste had also signed an MoU with UMS in Putrajaya to strengthen academic and research-related courses.
Also present were state deputy chief ministers Tan Sri Pairin Kitingan, Datuk Yahya Hussin and Datuk Raymond Tan, ministers and officials, Timor-Leste delegates as well as UMS vice chancellor Professor Datuk Dr Mohd Harun Abdullah.
