Malaysia's sole woman representative eyeing gold at Asian bodybuilding championship.



KOTA KINABALU: Meilaura Dora Jimmy, will be Malaysia's sole woman representativeto compete in the three-day 48th Asian Bodybuilding and Physique sports Championships in Macau, China next Friday.
  The 34-year-old Sabahan lass hopes to bring back gold medal this time after winning third on the same game last year in Vietnam.
  "I am more prepared for this time as I have followed more intense workouts and stricter diet intakes throughout this year.
  "My concern now is the availability of quality food there which would have great impact on the muscles development even in short times.
  "My plan is to pack frozen food from here and hopefully they will stay fresh and consumable during the one-week stay there,"she said, adding that the team would be arriving Macau next Tuesday.
  Meilaura has been choosen by the Malaysian Bodybuilding Federation to compete under Sabah Bodybuilding Judges and Technical Association.
  The health supplement retailer is bearing the travelling expenses of RM7,000 by herself.
  "There are lot to sacrifice to be in this competition, but if this is the chance to uplift the name of the state and country I should go all out for it,".
  Her coach Abdul Aziz Ahmad and a chaperon will be accompanying her during the championships.
  Aziz, who is also a former national bodybuilder and experienced judge, described Laura's body had achieved the standards of a "winner" for fullfilling the five 'S's criteria-size, shape, separation, striation and symmetrical.
  "Judges from international championships commented that she already had good-looking physique last year," he added.
  Other bodybuilding squad are Malvern Abdullah from Sarawak, Abdul Naim from Johor, Mohd Rozaimi from Pahang, Budak Ancah, Azahar Mohammad, Mahaiyan Rozmani and Wong Hong from Kuala Lumpur.
 Malaysia will also field three contestants in the body physique category.

  It was her second participation in international competition after  placed third in the previous Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sport Championships in Vietnam in last year.
  The 34-year-old Sabah said she was happy and feel blessed to have won the competition and made the country proud.
  "I will continue to train harder for World championships in Mumbai India this coming November," she said, adding that she would probably bear the expenditure all by herself.
  Meilaura competed for body physique of 49kg women category.
  She was with other bodybuilding squad Malvern Abdullah from Sarawak, Abdul Naim from Johor, Mohd Rozaimi from Pahang, Budak Ancah, Azahar Mohammad, Mahaiyan Rozmani and Wong Hong from Kuala Lumpur.
