Gleneagles Malaysia chief operating officer Datuk Amir Firdaus Abdullah said they would not have to travel overseas to receive state-of-the-art medical services.

“We have staff trained in advanced cardiac life support to treat patients  in our fully-equipped ambulances and in the emergency department.

“Top notch cardiothoracic surgeons and post-basic cardiac nurses are available to take good care of the patients,” he said at the soft opening ceremony here yesterday.

Its cardiac center is equipped with a catheterisation lab for diagnostic purposes, while its operating rooms are equipped with laminar flow system to reduce infection rate.

The hospital also offers medical services for women and children, digestive health, as well as bone and joint conditions.

Amir said the 200-bed hospital was built to meet Joint Commission International (JCI) Accreditation standards for hospitals.

Besides having high technology and well-trained health staff, Gleneagles is also going to recruit translators mainly for Korean and Japanese-speaking patients.
