In Kota Kinabalu, Sabah health authorities are beefing up efforts to prevent the spread of Zika.
State health director Dr Christina Rundi said preventive measures were in place at port of entries.
She said there were ongoing operations to rid the breeding sites of Aedes mosquitoes.
"We are abiding by the guidelines given by the Health Ministry (to prevent the spread of Zika)."
Sabah was at high risk of having Zika cases given the vector in the state, said infectious diseases specialist Dr Timothy William, adding that it was difficult to quantify the risk as the situation was similar to dengue phenomenon here.
