KOTA KINABALU: Police force in the country is expected to make their Corruption-Free pledge with Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) next week.
“The pledge would be held at police headquarters in every
state simultaneously on Monday.
“The pledging and signing will be led by Inspector-general of
police (Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar) at Bukit Aman,”said state MACC director Datuk
Sazali Salbi.
He was speaking after witnessing 130 staff of Sabah Farmers
Organisation Authority (LPP) here yesterday declaring their pledge to be free
from corruption.
LPP is the 53rd government agency in Sabah which
became part of MACC’s initiative to encourage government servants to uphold
integrity and avoid corruption at all costs.
Earlier in April, Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman
had also led the state cabinet ministers and assistant ministers in making the
same pledge.
Tawau Municipal Council had also recently become the first
local authority to jump on the bandwagon.
“Fighting corruption is not an exclusive duty of MACC but
should also be done by people as their own responsibility.
“It had been reported recently due to practices related to
corruption and power abuse, some allocations from government never reach the
people or security had been compromised among others,” he added.
Present was LPP state director Anita Misuari who also said
the agency would also adopt no-gift policy to ensure the staff deliver their
duty in professional and with integrity.
