KOTA KINABALU: The media were caught by surprise when the Kota Kinabalu Court officials limited the number of reporters covering the high profile case involving the former and the present Sabah Chief Minister.
The Court of Appeal is expected to deliver its verdict on the appeal by Tan Sri Musa Aman against the dismissal of his suit in challenging the appointment of Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal as the Sabah Chief Minister.
Sabah Journalists Association president Datuk Muguntan Vanar said the institution listed eight media organisations randomly.
"They left most of the 20 media organisations in the state out of a courtroom. It is sad that we were not consulted.

"As media practitioners, we disseminate news to the larger public and should be given priority for space within the gallery.
"We hope court officials would use the committee network to streamline issues like this in the future," he said in a statement.
The appeal, which started at about 9am, is expected to be heard before a three-bench comprising justices Datuk Kamardin Hashim, Datuk Rhodzariah Bujang and Datuk Mohammad Zabidin Mohd Diah.
The High Court in Nov 7 last year had dismissed the suit filed by Musa against state Head of State Tun Juhar Mahiruddin and Shafie.
Musa, who is the former Sabah Barisan Nasional (BN) chief, sought for the Court to rule that Mohd Shafie’s appointment as the chief minister was unconstitutional.
The High Court, however, ruled that Musa had lost the command of the majority in the state assembly with the defection of six assemblymen from Sabah BN.
Meanwhile, some 200 supporters of both Musa and Shafie were seen gathering at the Court compound as early as 8am.
