PENAMPANG: Sabah DAP plans to field all its incumbent assemblymen for the upcoming state election.

Its state Women Chief Jannie Lasimbang said the party leadership had made such a decision but it would still be up to Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan) president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal.

"Mohd Shafie will table (the state seats negotiation among Warisan- Pakatan Harapan- Upko- Amanah Sabah) next Friday.

"It is the same on the logo (to be used during election) which is still being negotiated (among the allies)," she said after the handing over of Covid-19 aid to small and medium enterprises for Kepayan constituents, here.

On Tuesday, Amanah had proposed the usage of the Warisan logo for all 73 state seats to reflect the unity and support of all the component parties with Warisan Plus.

Jannie, who is also incumbent Kapayan assemblyman, said, although the party leaders were receptive to such a suggestion, in reality Warisan-PH-UPKO had had a good winning combination for the past 26 months in the government.

She hoped the voters would give fair assessment towards the elected assemblymen during the upcoming state polls.

The 2018 polls saw Sabah DAP securing six state seats in Kapayan, Likas, Luyang, Sri Tanjong, Tanjong Papat, and Elopura.

"It is unfair for us as we only have two years in the government, which only allows us to get to know issues and work with the civil servants before moving towards implementation.

"There are many developments in the pipeline for Kapayan, if there is no such 'betrayal'. That is why it is important to have a stable government so that all the plans could happen," she said, adding that any accurate assessment of the elected representatives could only be done after completing their five-year term.

Sabah Assembly was dissolved on July 30 following defection of 13 assemblymen from Mohd Shafie's camp to pledge support towards former Chief Minister Tan Sri Musa Aman.

Jannie listed plans for the constituency which include building an awning at the Kapayan square and rebranding the name of the area.

Apart from that, she was also considering three bylaws for the constituency involving waste segregation, building, and subsidiary titles.
