State Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said at this juncture, talks on data were underway among relevant agencies including on the number of frontliners, senior citizens and high risk groups.
"There is nothing definite (ruling) about the vaccine from the Health Ministry yet. The vaccine is also still at the clinical trial phase," he said during a virtual press conference, here.
Last month, the government signed an agreement with Pfizer to procure 12.8 million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine, which will immunise 6.4 million Malaysians.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) has estimated that 65 to 70 percent of any given population must be vaccinated to stop the spread of the disease. Once it is crossed, it is expected to drive down transmission rates significantly.
Masidi, who is also state Local government and Housing minister, said today Sabah recorded 268 new cases with five deaths.
The new Bukit Punai cluster here has five new cases.
