KOTA KINABALU: Those who plan to organise gatherings in the state must inform the authorities beforehand.
Sabah Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said the move was to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures to prevent the spread of Covd-19.
"Sabah Disaster Management Committee (PKOB) has decided that the organising of any activity or social function which involves a crowd should be made known to the respective district's PKOB.
"This is to ensure the compliance of SOP set by the local authority," he said in a statement.
In the past few days, Sabah recorded the emergence of new clusters associated with festivities, spiking the tally of daily cases over the 300-mark.
Today, there are 383 cases reported in the state with five deaths - two in Lahad Datu, one each in Kota Kinabalu, Kinabatangan and Sandakan.
Masidi, who is also state local government and housing minister, added one of the new clusters, which is dubbed as "Tombovo", had recorded 18 cases.
