KOTA KINABALU: Tourism, cultural and recreational activities are not allowed during the two-week Movement Control Order (MCO) in the state beginning tomorrow.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said people can still stay at the hotels and have room service food, though they cannot use facilities such as gymnasiums, swimming pools, meeting rooms nor spas.
"All sports and recreational activities are not allowed throughout the MCO except leisure activities such as jogging in the neighbourhood with the maximum being two members of a household, or cycling alone within a 10-kilometre radius of their residences.

As for essential services workers, they can travel inter-district by showing their work passes or permission letters from the employers to the authorities.
Essential services include professionals, manufacturing, trading and distribution, farming and commodities, among others.
Hajiji said the standard operating procedures which allow operations from 6am until 8pm, is to ensure a not more than 30 per cent workforce for managerial groups or less than 50 per cent for support groups at the workplaces.
Nurseries, kindergartens and childcare centres will be allowed to open during the MCO.
