KOTA KINABALU: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) arrested a policeman for allegedly asking and accepting a bribe worth RM3,500.
The lance corporal, in his 20s, was believed to have solicited the cash from a Pakistani man.
He was alleged to have asked for the bribe money as an inducement for the foreigner to get back several seized items including a motorcycle, a loan record books and a passport.
The policeman was detained about 11.30am and the MACC also confiscated the money.
Sabah MACC director S. Karunanithy confirmed the arrest.
