KOTA KINABALU: Sabah stands by its decision to allow dine-ins at restaurants, eateries and hotel restaurants in the state.
The state previously allowed dine-ins from June 29, when it was still under Phase 1 of the National Recovery Plan (NRP). Under the nationwide standard operating procedures (SOP) set for Phase 1, dine-ins are not permitted.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor in a brief statement today said their decision on the matter remains.
"This is our stand," Hajiji said.
Starting today, Sabah transitions into Phase 2 of the NRP after fulfilling the three threshold values comprising daily Covid-19 cases, Intensive Care Unit (ICU) bed occupancy and achieving at least 10 per cent of two-dose vaccination rate.
For Phase 2 SOP, all eateries, including drive-throughs, will be allowed to open from 6am to 9pm for takeaway and delivery.
The new SOP also allows retail outlets and shopping malls to open from 6am to 8pm daily.
Petrol stations are allowed to operate from 5am to 10pm.
Sabah will also open up individual sports and recreational activities at open areas for physical and self exercise, but not for competition.
Inter-district travel remains, but Kota Kinabalu, Penampang and Putatan is officially one zone again.
Children below 12 are not allowed to be at public spaces except for medical and emergency purposes.
