KOTA KINABALU: Authorities here will investigate a woman's complaint of having to queue up with Person Under Investigations (PUI) at the Likas Sampling Centre to remove her wristband after having completed her 10-day quarantine.

Audrey Susan Tunggolou fears she might contract Covid-19 infection at the centre while waiting in the queue with other PUI's.

The 44-year-old said she was the only one with a wristband to be removed when she arrived.

"There is a designated counter meant to remove the wristband, I went forward to enquire about it, but I was asked to queue with others who are also lining up for tests and to get their quarantine wristband at the same counter.

"By doing so, it means that I am exposed to other Person Under Investigations who might be Covid-19 positive.

"It defeats the purpose of myself undergoing quarantine and cleared with negative results if I were to be infected while waiting for the wristband to be removed," she said.

Audrey, who spent about an hour at the centre, added that cutting of the off wristband should be done fast to minimise contact with others.

Sabah Health director Dr Rose Nani Mudin, when contacted, said she would look into the issue.

Today, the state recorded 1,010 Covid-19 cases of which Kota Kinabalu contributed 183.

A new cluster dubbed "Sangkabok" was detected in Kuala Penyu.

State Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said more than half were contributed among the close contacts category.

However, the number of symptomatic cases, which are sporadic and unknown, has increased to 224 or 22.2 per cent from the total cases today.
