KOTA KINABALU: Likas Bay saw early risers kick-start their day with exercising as the local authority reopened it today.

Natica Carlen, 22, who arrived at 6.30am was surprised the coastal jogging and cycling track had been reopened.

"I had no idea we can enter today. I just tried my luck

"But I am glad that there are not many people here and there are personnel checking on the crowd," she said.

Yesterday, the Kota Kinabalu City Hall announced the reopening of two public parks; Likas Bay and Taman Ujana Rimba Tropika.

Both parks would open for two sessions from 6am until 10am and 3pm until 6pm, daily.

Only those who have completed their vaccination were allowed to use the parks for a maximum of two hours per person.

Children under 12 however would not be allowed entry and visitors have to maintain a two to three-meter distancing.

Apart from jogging, members of the public were also allowed to do group exercises with less than 20 people.

For Likas Bay, the maximum capacity is 500 people while Taman Ujana is 150.
