KOTA KINABALU: The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing between Sabah Pakatan Harapan and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah will focus on government stability, economic recovery and reining in the Covid-19 infections.

The state PH chairman Datuk Christina Liew said the discussions on the proposed MoU, basing on mutual agreement from both sides, had taken place about a month ago.

"All component parties have been actively involved in the discussions under the big umbrella of the Sabah Agenda Reform which emphasises on stability of the government, economic recovery and control of Covid-19 in Sabah.

"Another pertinent issue brought to the discussion table is related to Sabah's constitutional rights, including on the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63)," she said in a statement.

PKR, DAP, AMANAH and UPKO, had a meeting last night about the matter.

Liew, however, was represented by Sabah PH Secretary Mustapha Sakmud as she had been hospitalised following a minor surgery for a broken wrist while distributing food assistance to the people in her constituency of Tawau.

The Tawau member of Parliament said Sabah PH had almost completed the preliminary draft of the proposed MoU.

"Any conclusion is subject to mutual agreement on the terms of bipartisan cooperation with the government.

"I hope this will clear the confusion over premature media reports on the matter. We will issue a formal notification when the time is right."
