Sabah hopes to attract more tourists from China once border reopens

KOTA KINABALU: The state government is hoping the Chinese embassy and consulate will help promote the state as a tourist destination for the people in the Republic.

State Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said he hoped for more tourists from China once the country's borders reopen to international visitors.

He added that the state's tourism sector was heavily dependent on foreign tourists especially from China.

"The Covid-19 pandemic has severely affected the tourism sector. With the opening of borders to international visitors in the near future, we hope many tourists from China will visit Sabah.
