KOTA KINABALU: Tan Sri Tony Fernandes has joined the trend by taking pictures at the viral hotspot at a local bank here. The Capital A CEO mentioned that this morning he saw the Maybank location on Instagram, where it was noted as viral. “I didn’t understand at first, but I wanted to contribute to the ‘virality’ of the site. If it helps promote Sabah, that’s great,” he told the media after receiving an award from Sabah Tourism Board chairman Datuk Joniston Bangkuai. The site has gained popularity, particularly among Chinese tourists, and has been widely shared on the social media platform XiaoHongShu. Earlier, Tony noted that Sabah and AirAsia have shared a special connection for the past 23 years, with both benefiting mutually from tourism. He added that over the past 20 years, the airline has facilitated the travel of approximately 80 million people to and from Sabah.
