KOTA KINABALU: Visitors to Lintasan Deasoka's month-long Ramadan bazaar can explore a selection of 40 traditional kuih.
Mohd Zabri Saidin, 32, the manager of one of the vendors, said this marks their third time participating in the bazaar.
His stall, Suka Makan, which is usually based at Wisma UTC in Sembulan, typically sells breakfast sets and desserts.
However, for the bazaar, they have introduced a special concept of offering a variety of traditional kuih from across Malaysia.
"We are selling various types of kuih muih commonly found in Malaysia, including kuih bom, onde-onde, bingka ubi, wajik, nona manis, and pulut panggang.
"But we also have specialties like pisang tamalek and akok, which are traditional delicacies of the Bugis community from Sabah's east coast.
"Pisang tamalek is a banana-based kuih, whereas akok is made from eggs and brown sugar," he said when met at the bazaar.
Mohd Zabri said the kuih are priced at an average of RM1 per piece.
"To offer better value for money, we've slightly increased the portion sizes," he said.
Last month, Kota Kinabalu City Hall announced that there would be five Ramadan bazaar locations in the municipality.
