KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Utility authority will ensure minimal power disruptions during Raya Aidilfitri celebration.
Sabah Electricity chief executive officer Mohd Yaakob Jaafar said among the measures were to deploy 500 personnel to work during the holiday.
The workforce, comprising engineers, technicians and operations staff, was deployed across key facilities including power stations, substations and system control centres statewide.
“The commitment shown by our personnel, even on a festive morning, reflects the company’s priority in safeguarding public well-being.
"While Aidilfitri is a time for family, their dedication ensures the continuity of stable electricity supply, especially during periods of increased demand,” he said in a statement.
He added that operational preparedness during the festive season was enhanced through close coordination among technical teams on the ground and centralised system monitoring to ensure swift and effective handling of any incidents.
Mohd Yaakob also advised the public to prioritise electrical safety and practise efficient energy use, particularly during the festive period.
Consumers can obtain safety tips and energy-saving guidelines via the company’s official website and customer service channels, including its CareLine, hotline and mobile application.
