KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Barisan Nasional has completed a major leadership restructuring for 2026.

Its chairman Datuk Seri Arthur Joseph Kurup said the new line-up blends experienced leaders with younger figures to create a more dynamic and effective party structure.

"The restructuring combines seasoned leadership with new participation, including youth representation, to ensure a more organised and responsive movement in facing current challenges," he said in a statement.

Arthur, who is also Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah president, remains chairman, while Sabah Umno chief Datuk Jafry Ariffin has been appointed deputy chairman.

Three vice-chairmen were named: Datuk Richard Kastum, Datuk Teah Heok Kuin and Chandrra Segar Soosaimany.

Datuk Mohd Hasnol Ayub was appointed secretary, Datuk Mohamad Alamin as treasurer, and Datuk Abdul Aziz Julkarnain as strategic communications director.

Datuk Noraini Idris was named state BN women's chief, Sufian Abd Karim will lead the Youth wing, and Ummi Nabilah Jamal the Puteri wing.

The coalition also expressed appreciation to the Sabah Unity Government machinery for its efforts during recent by-elections, crediting strong coordination and teamwork for victories in Kinabatangan (P.187) and Lamag (N.58).

Sabah BN stressed that its priority remains the full implementation of the Malaysian Agreement 1963, particularly in securing Sabah's rights within the federation.

It said it would continue taking a constructive approach to ensure all MA63 provisions are carried out comprehensively.
