Woman saves sick hubby from fire

PENAMPANG: An Indonesian housewife saved her sick husband by getting him out of their house during a fire but lost jewellery and cash worth more than RM10,000.

Satit Batari, 50, was among the members of four families who were made homeless after the fire destroyed their wooden houses at Kampung Luyang Baru here yesterday.
She said the fire broke out about 1pm at a house where no one was in at the time.
"Saving my husband was the priority, he can barely walk without assistance because of a respiratory problem.
"But a few neighbours managed to save some clothes for us."
She said would temporarily stay at their relative's house.
Another Indonesian worker, Wa Murana La Bukaha, 43, who just came back from shopping, was shocked to see her rented house destroyed in the fire.
No casualties were reported while the cause of the fire and total loss is being investigated.
