AKU JANJI: Kurup heads 25-member team to help execute state BN manifesto projects
KOTA KINABALU: MORE development projects will be carried out in the state with the newly formed special committee to coordinate Barisan Nasional's 13th General Election "AkuJanji" projects getting down to work.
'The manifesto, as announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, will focus on improving public infrastructure, health services, economic development and the people's quality of life.
The 25-member committee, comprising senior officers from key federal and state agencies, will be led by Minister in Prime Minister's Department Tan Sri Joseph Kurup.
"Implementing these transformation projects will help the nation become a developed and high-income nation.
"It is a holistic and comprehensive approach to strengthen the unity of our multiracial community," he said after chairing the committee's inaugural meeting at federal administrative complex building here on Thursday.
The committee was also briefed on the major federal funded development projects planned for Sabah under the current 10th Malaysia Plan.
Kurup said the committee was focused on ensuring the smooth implementation of most of the planned work, possibly by the next general election.
"Although the state BN manifesto is under the state government, we (Federal Government) want to be in the know regarding those projects."
Kurup also proposed the establishment of another independent committee to evaluate and audit the implementation of the plan.
"A continuous study and the creation of a database system will help keep track of the results.
"As for the impact, a social media platform should be created to manage feedback from the people," he said.
