KOTA KINABALU: The United States city of Portland in the state of Oregon is seeking to enhance its relationship with the state capital by establishing twin city status between both urban areas.

The initiative was conveyed by Portland-Kota Kinabalu Sister City Association president Ellen Schmidt-Devlin during a courtesy call on Mayor Datuk Abidin Madingkir here yesterday.
"In building friendship and understanding (by such tie-ups), both countries will realise that we are working for the same purposes.
"The people of Portland are looking forward to work together both in economics, education and health issues," she said.
