KOTA KINABALU: About 200 poor pupils from six primary schools here will receive financial aid to cover their schooling expenses, thanks to the Eco World Foundation Student Aid Programme.
Foundation chairman Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye said the aid would cover tuition fees, food allowances, stationery and pocket money.
The pupils are from SJK(C) Chung Hwa Kota Kinabalu, SJK (C) Yick Nam, SRK Sacred Heart, SK Tanjung Aru I, SK Kepayan and SK Stella Maris.
Lee said the foundation had worked with the state Education Department to identify the needy pupils.
He said the foundation had allocated RM4 million to help poor students nationwide.
