KOTA KINABALU: A small boy who had wandered off while his mother was checking-in at the Kota Kinabalu International Airport here, was found safe about 15 minutes later at the baggage sorting area this morning.
The airport's senior manager Sunif Naiman confirmed the 9.15am incident.
“The boy's mother was not aware that her child had gone to the luggage conveyor area while checking-in and became panic upon realising he was missing.
“He sustained minor scratches on his forehead and finger, but his parents refused to seek treatment at the clinic,” he said when contacted, adding that the family was scheduled to fly to Penang at 1.35pm.
Sunif advised passengers with young children to be more alert to prevent similar incident from recurring.
