KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Energy Corporation Sdn Bhd (SEC) is targeting to increase sales of natural gas to 167,000 cubic metres daily with the implementation of its new project at the Kota Kinabalu Industrial Area, here.
The project, which attracted more than RM60 million in investments this year, will be conducted via a partnership with Zhangjiagang Furui Special Equipment Co Ltd.
SEC chief executive officer Datuk Harun Ismail said it expected to complete the facility by the end of the year.
The threefold increase in sales from the current 51,000 cubic metres per day can be achieved in four years when distribution expands to the west coast, interior and northern part of Sabah.
"Upon the completion of the Pan-Borneo Highway, sales is expected to increase again, as the distribution area will also cover the east coast of the state."
He was speaking after Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman launched the projec, here, yesterday.
