KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Health department denied two Covid-19 positive patients had escaped from Queen Elizabeth Hospital, its director Datuk Dr Christina Rundi said.
“The message of two patients who had allegedly absconded from the hospital is untrue,” she said in a statement.
A Facebook screenshot which showed a picture of two men, with a caption saying that they both were infected with Covid-19 and had escaped from the hospital, was making its rounds in WhatsApp groups.
She also said people should not disseminate unverified information about places contaminated with Covid-19.
“The warning message of allegedly red zones in several districts and at fish markets is also not true,” Dr Christina said.
As of today, the state health department has recorded 112 Covid-19 cases, which is the third-highest in the country, but so far no mortality.
She added that the public should continue to maintain personal hygiene by frequently washing hands with water and soap, re-hydrate and prevent from shaking hands.

“Seek immediate treatment if there are symptoms of fever, coughing or difficulty of breathing.”
