KOTA KINABALU: A 27-year-old man without driving licence hit a police barricade during a roadblock at Kolombong near here.
On April 3 at about 9.30pm, the man from Kudat gave an excuse that he had to go out to see his friend to borrow money.
District police chief assistant Habibi Majinji said the excuse was unacceptable and he should not be roaming around during movement control order (MCO).
“He also hit the barricade and light causing damages of about RM200.
“The man, who was arrested two days ago, is expected to be charged today," he said at a press conference, adding that the man was among 16 people arrested for flouting the MCO since March 18.
Meanwhile, at the fish landing jetty here, Habibi said that individuals and suppliers were not allowed to buy seafood so as to prevent overcrowding.
“Police have received complains that there were too many people buying supplies at the jetty.
“From now on, only major wholesalers and fishermen can be at this jetty with operates between 6am and 6pm," he said. Habibi said others could purchase fish from six major fish markets in the city.
Police will arrest those defying the MCO.
