KOTA KINABALU: Sabah has expressed gratitude to all parties that supported and backed the state government's efforts to contain Covid-19.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal said everyone was responsible to tackle the infection.
"We are facing the Covid-19 pandemic which has not only crippled our economic growth but also the lives of our people.
"Knowing the threat, a number of measures had been taken (by the state government).
"Those measures include to limit the number of family members in a house, no visitation nor returning to hometown among others," he said in his Hari Raya Aidilfitri message today.
Shafie said preventive measures were not meant to control or restrict freedom, but to prevent the virus from continuing its deadly spread.
Sabah has seen a cumulative total of 340 cases involving the coronavirus infection.
"I would like to extend my apologies should there be measures taken by us (Sabah government) which has more or less affected the livelihoods of the people.
"All is being done with the aim to prevent Covid-19 and to save human lives in the state."
