KOTA KINABALU: Sabah's economy can only be revived when all leaders put aside their political differences to find solutions to help the people, said Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan) president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal.
He said Warisan lauded the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah's decree on not declaring a state of emergency for the country.
The Semporna member of parliament also pledged that political leaders from Warisan will ensure everyone can work together.
"This is to ensure the country is able to fight against Covid-19 pandemic that is burdening the people.
"The people have made their sacrifices during this difficult time, it is time for ministers and people's elected representatives to make sacrifices by contributing to efforts in bracing the situation now," he said in a statement.
As for the current situation, the former Sabah chief minister also said that business community was badly affected and continued to bear more losses due to the pandemic.
He said to resolve the matter, both the business community and the state government should work together for mutual benefit of both sectors
"The business community will definitely have ideas and proposals that can be shared with the government on how to solve existing problems."
Mohd Shafie also extended gratitude to every citizen for following standard operating procedures (SOP) by the authorities in preventing the spread of Covid-19.
