KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor has recovered from Covid-19.

Hajiji and his wife, Datin Seri Julia Salag, who was also infected with the coronavirus, were discharged from the Queen Elizabeth Hospital this morning.

Before his departure, the Chief Minister thanked Sabah Health director Datuk Dr Christina Rundi, hospital director Dr William Gotulis, Infectious Diseases unit chief Dr Lee Heng Gee, and specialists and nurses who treated them.

"I also would like to extend my appreciation and gratitude to all who have been praying for my recovery and health.

"The same goes to all frontliners who have been working hard and sacrificing their time and energy to prevent the spread of Covid-19," he said in a statement.

The Sulaman assemblyman added that he is worried about the Covid-19 situation in Sabah, but assured the public that the state government will do its best to prevent its spread.

"What is important is that the people have to be disciplined and always follow the standard operating procedures set by the government."
