SANDAKAN: Computerised vehicle inspection company - Puspakom has shut down its branch here after a staff tested positive for Covid-19.
"The infected staff is now being treated and quarantined at a government hospital while contact tracing is also being done. "As for other colleagues, they are going for Covid-19 screening and were also told to undergo a 14-day quarantine," Puspakom said in a statement. Puspakom closed the branch here to enable sanitisation works and cleaning processes to be carried out. There will be no operations of the Puspakom branch on Monday and its reopening will be informed in the near future. "From our side, we will get advice from the Road Transport Department on the flexibility for permit renewal for vehicles as Puspakom is closed. "For those with appointments at Puspakom Sandakan, all payments made for inspection will be refunded automatically." Meanwhile, Puspakom's Kota Kinabalu branch resumed operations yesterday after being closed for a week due to Covid-19. As of yesterday, Sabah recorded 441 cases which saw Kota Kinabalu with the highest number of cases at 132, with 56 of them coming from three clusters. Sandakan has 90, Tawau 56, Lahad Datu 46, Kudat 28, Tuaran 25, Penampang 18, Putatan 13,Kota Belud 8, Papar 5, Pitas and Kalabakan 4, Semporna and Beaufort 3, Keningau and Beluran 2, Ranau and Kinabatangan 1. |
