KOTA KINABALU: Airlines should not take advantage of the current situation by increasing prices of domestic flight tickets.

West Coast Smart Consumers Association president David Chan said these companies should not take advantage following the lifting of inter-district and inter-state travel bans.

"People have been unable to meet their families for two years because of the movement control order.

"The issue of increasing the price of domestic flight tickets should not happen in the current situation," he said in a statement.

Chan added that the soaring price of airline tickets is like taking advantage of the plight faced by consumers.

"Many want to return to their villages to visit their families and airlines should not take advantage of these situations," he said.
