KOTA KINABALU: Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali heads the list of 1,299 recipients of Sabah state awards in conjunction with the 68th birthday of Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Juhar Mahiruddin, tomorrow.

Zuki is one of seven people being conferred with the Seri Panglima Darjah Kinabalu (SPDK) award which carries the title "Datuk Seri Panglima".

Other recipients of the SPDK are Army chief General Tan Sri Zamrose Mohd Zain, Deputy Chief MInister Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin, former chief minister Tan Sri Chong Kah Kiat Ching and former deputy chief minister Datuk Dr Yee Moh Chai.

Two women receiving the award are Beaufort member of parliament Datuk Azizah Mohd Dun and former prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin's wife Puan Sri Noorainee Abdul Rahman.

Sixty-six people will be conferred with the Panglima Gemilang Darjah Kinabalu (PGDK) award that carries the title "Datuk."

Among them are Sabah Community Development and People's Wellbeing Minister Shahelmey Yahya, state Health director Dr Rose Nani Mudin, Sabah MACC director S. Karunanithy, Chief Conservator of Forests Frederick Kugan and Kota Kinabalu mayor Noorliza Awang Alip among others.

Indonesia consul-general in Kota Kinabalu Krishna Djelani also received the award.

Sabah Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Jafry Ariffin heads the list of 10 people, including national badminton legend Datuk Lee Chong Wei, who will receive the Justice of Peace.

Others are Datuk Seri Dr Sabin @ Sapilin Samitah, Tan Sri Sukarti Wakiman, Datuk Soo Chung Yee, Datuk Ruji Ubi, Syamsul Osman, Zaloha Ahmad, Lo Su Fui and Peter Lee Kong Chung.

A total of 1,216 people are being conferred with other awards namely Ahli Setia Darjah Kinabalu ASDK (95), Darjah Kinabalu ADK (233), Bintang Kinabalu (400), Bintang Setia Kinabalu (346) and Certificate of Honour (142).
