PM to attend Malaysia Day celebration in Sabah

KOTA KINABALU: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob will attend the national-level Malaysia Day celebration here this Thursday.

The celebration, which will be held at the Sabah International Convention Centre at 8pm, would also see the attendance of Sabah Yang diPertua Negeri Tun Juhar Mahiruddin and Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.

The event will also see the signing of a special book in conjunction with Malaysia Day.

Meanwhile, for the first time, the Sabah Cultural Board will organise the Malaysia Prihatin prayers programme, both on-site and via their Facebook Page, for the national-level celebration.

The programme involves the Sabah Bumiputera Christian Association, Sabah United Chinese Association, Malaysia Hindu Sangam and Kinabalu Singh Sabha Sabah.

Today at 10am, Malaysia Hindu Sangam Negeri Sabah held its prayers for Malaysia Day at Kuil Sri Pasupathinath, Bukit Padang near here.

On Sept 16, Kinabalu Singh Sabha Association Gurdwara Sahib will have its prayers at the Kota Kinabalu Gurdwara Sahib Sikh Temple at 10am.

The Sabah United Chinese Association is scheduled to hold its prayers on Sept 19 at the K. K Peak Nam Tong Buddhist Mission.

The Sabah Bumiputera Christian Association will also have its prayer session on the same day at 2pm at Gereja Baptis, Pelita Cahaya Damai in Luyang.
