Sabah Minister Shahelmey Yahya to be state immunisation operations director.

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Community Development and People's Wellbeing Minister Shahelmy Yahya has been appointed the state's immunisation programme operations director.

Shahelmey will be assisting the state Health Department in planning and implementing the inoculation programme more effectively to achieve the targeted vaccination rate.

"Shahelmy will also be monitoring and coordinating with the Health Ministry for the facilities and urgent needs at the hospitals in Sabah.

"He will also issue statements from time to time, or when it is necessary, to inform people of the immunisation programmes and other relevant information," said Sabah Covid-19 spokesman Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun in a statement.

Today, Sabah daily Covid-19 cases dropped to 1,844, compared to 2,136 yesterday.

The new clusters in the state are Sawit Simpang Batu 38 in Nabawan, Bawah Bayu in Tuaran.
