RANAU: Hajiris Sulomin was elated when he experienced snow on Mount Kinabalu here this morning.
The 46-year-old Mountain Torq Via Ferrata trainer captured the scene from Sayat-Sayat hut at the elevation of 3.668 metres above sea level.
At Press time, his one-minute footage uploaded on the Mountain Torq Facebook page was shared by at least 7,700 users.
In the video, Hajiris, a trainer with Mountain Torq for 11 years, said: "Wow, it is snowing at Mount Kinabalu. Opurak…opurak (meaning white in Dusun language) just like at the white people's place. What a beautiful view!"
He also told the New Straits Times that it happened at 6.52am and lasted for about three minutes.
However, Hajiris said he was not sure of the temperature at that time.
It is learned that the last time it snowed here was in May 2018.
