KOTA KINABALU: Bringing back the festive mood of Easter Sunday is something that the staff of Sutera Harbour Resort have been looking forward to this year.
For the past two years, its Muffinz Deli Cafe which mainly caters for children's celebrations has been quiet due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
For its Children Easter Brunch event this Easter, the cafe was beautifully decorated with bunnies and eggs.
Chefs and kitchen staff also put their best efforts to prepare a spread of multiple choices and colourful food that matches the festival.
They also planned activities for the children such as face painting, balloon sculpting, easter egg colouring and hunting among others.
Executive pastry chef Pritchard Ligadu said Easter Sunday was supposed to be celebrated among families, especially those with children.
"The celebration brings hope, love and joy. This is the day that children should be close to their parents.
"We are thankful that the event, held between 12pm and 3pm today, was fully booked. The cafe was limited to 60 people for the event.
"Apart from the affordable rates, the pulling factor is that children could swim at the pool by the cafe," he said, adding that the Cafe ensured it complies with the standard operating procedures in preventing the spread of the Covid-19 infection.
Pritchard added that despite the government having given more relaxation on public events, the team decided not to be in a rush to have more crowds at the cafe.
"This is also a way for us to test on providing similar events in future as we are hopeful that more tourists from other countries will revisit us again," he said.
