Sabah recorded almost RM25billion investment, says Ewon

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah recorded RM24.98 billion in approved investments over a five-year period from September 2020 to September 2025.

Statte Industrial Development, Entrepreneurship and Transport Minister (MINDET) Datuk Ewon Benedick said that, based on records from the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), RM19.55 billion comprised foreign investments while RM5.43 billion were domestic investments.

“2022 recorded the highest investment at RM8.38 billion, followed by 2025 up to the third quarter with a value of RM7.54 billion.

“In addition, the state government is planning to build a Blue Economy Industrial Park in Kudat as well as an industrial park in Kota Belud to stimulate investment and industrial activities in Sabah,” he said.

He said this at the Minister’s Address Ceremony, the 2025 Excellent Service Awards and the Appreciation Ceremony of the Ministry of Industrial Development, Entrepreneurship and Transport on Thursday.
