KOTA KINABALU: Outstanding students in Sabah are invited to apply for the Shell Malaysia Scholarship Programme 2026, which will open starting this March.
Shell Malaysia Chairperson Siti Hurrairah Su
laiman said that currently seven students from Sabah are pursuing their studies under the Shell Scholarship Programme, most of them continuing their education in the United Kingdom and the United States.
“The scholarship programme is an annual initiative by Shell Malaysia to develop high-potential local talent, with new intakes conducted every year.
“Overall, Shell Malaysia selects between six and ten students nationwide each year. For Sabah, the quota can be increased depending on the number of applications and the quality of applicants.
“If more outstanding students come forward to apply, we are prepared to expand the quota,” she said after a courtesy visit to the Yang di-Pertua Negeri, Tun Musa Aman, at Istana Seri Kinabalu on Thursday.
According to Siti, the visit was to brief Tun Musa on developments as well as Shell Malaysia’s continued commitment to investment and operations in Sabah.
“We have been operating in Sabah for more than 40 years and remain committed to long-term investment,” she added.
Also present were Sabah Shell Petroleum Company Limited General Manager Alexon Jong; East Malaysia Corporate Relations General Manager Jonathan Jolly; and East Malaysia Corporate Relations Adviser Liz Kumar.
