PENAMPANG: Papar representative Gelvia Vanessa Jenny was crowned Unduk Ngadau Kaamatan (UNK) State-level 2026 champion during the finale of the annual pageant at the Hongkod Koisaan Hall of the Kadazandusun Cultural Association (KDCA) here on Sunday.
Gelvia emerged victorious over 53 other contestants to take home a cash prize, crown, trophy, sash and other sponsored prizes.
The first runner-up title went to Tuaran representative Juje Elor Francis, while Matunggong contestant Criszelbellkah Lorris finished third.
The fourth to seventh placings were won respectively by Kota Kinabalu representative Liane Melve Grace Lias, Pagalungan contestant Kerishine Danil, Penampang representative Gadrette Gregory and Sook contestant Myra Evana Robert.
The pageant was the highlight event of the Sabah-level Kaamatan Festival 2026 celebration.
Prizes were presented by the wife of the Sabah Yang di-Pertua Negeri, Toh Puan Faridah Tussin, accompanied by the Chief Minister’s wife Datin Seri Panglima Juliah Salag and Sabah Unduk Ngadau Kaamatan 2026 committee adviser Tindarama Datuk Joanna Kitingan.
